This one was built on a 39 Ford chassis and powered by a Cadillac engine
Things changed when Veritas, a West German sports car and racing builder teamed up to power Spohn's with BMW engines, later Opel engines
Prior to WWII Spohn Coachworks of Ravensburg Germany was a body builder for Maybach after the War Spohn took American cars left behind by the military for the chassis and built custom cars to order, sometimes referred to as the George Barris of Ravensburg!
