At some of the big Goodguys Street Rod Events they schedule vintage drag racing, I thought many more of the street rods were going to venture over for a real seat of the pants run down the 1/4 mile?
Columbus Ohio is 30 miles from Hebron Ohio so it was more of a structured group of regular attendees of the strip and sanctioned exhibition cars
I was impressed by many very cleanly built vintage racers like this Willy's and it turns out the hotel i stayed in was only 10 mins away
This pair of Chevy Coupes were so detailed and just great to see!
The "regular guy" racers no sponsors no team no shop!
Could you get any more old school dragster, very cool!
Pretty unique street rod/drag car!
Kinda rat rod drag car
I did not stay for the funny cars and pro cars and will explain later
These little English Ford Anglia's were alway popular drag cars in the US
1/4 mile BBQ!
Yeah it had a HEMI (valve covers)
This Anglia was so perfect down to the hood ornament!
Yes a drag racing snowmobile
2 Halfs of a Dominator Carb?
34? Plymouth with a 383 big block and home made billboard decals!
Never found the owner of this 1940 Plymouth down just like CARHUNTER likes it
Big Block Chevy powered International
I leave the drag racing event early to check out a big monthly cruise night in Middleport Ohio which is 5 mins away. 2nd Friday of each month verified on the internet with tonights date at the Lions Club Festival grounds and I get there NO CARS
It looks like an mini worlds fair kind of thing and even had some buildings like this vintage gas station
No cars?
I see a caretaker drive in and ask, he tells me it is next weekend, which would be the 3 Friday of the month and not the date on the internet!
It appears because July 1st was a Friday it confused the organizer???
Any way you cut it that still was the 1st Friday and tonight was the 2nd, thanks for getting me out of the event I paid for!
