WHEELS THROUGH TIME 2013, WHAT'S IN THE BARN, DALE WALKSLER ADVANCE AUTO DIY AND SPOHN

With a very heavy heart CARHUNTER is sad to report Dale lost his battle with cancer and passed away peacefully on February 3 2021

Wheels Through Time in Maggie Valley North Carolina mean anything to you? If you have seen the Tv show
What's in the Barn then you know Dale Walksler and his crazy quest for rare and unusual motorcycles!
https://wheelsthroughtime.com/#/ms-2745/4
I was surprised to find a bunch of cars as well!

I have been there twice (so far) and the more you look the more you find in this giant barn
This is the 1949 Veritas that was in the collection of the late Lee Roy Hartung up in Illinois which can be another blog on it's own

It's BMW based and was one a very few built in Germany by the George Barris of Ravensburg Hermann Spohn

It's so crazy I have to love it and this car and I have crossed paths quite  few times!!

Of course it's the 1932 Clobes special!!
After a long life in Mr. Clobes' basement the 1st custom has finally seen daylight again!

Then of course there are the 1000's of motorcycles

This two as well?

If you take the time and look around you find not only vehicles, but tons of auto/motobilia

Military central

Dale has so many parts that he has recreated several times old motorcycle shops within the "barn"
Chopper central

Hill climb central

Many many rare motorcycles reside here

Did you guess the plane is powered by a motorcycle engine?

Yes that is a leg
Motorcycle engine powered snow sled
The 1st Jet Ski, motorcycle powered of course!

You got the theme now, right?

Best two tone color combo ever! x2

Maggie Valley is very nice little hamlet and has become a hot spot for car shows now.

Dale will wander around the barn talking with visitors and firing up old motorcycles.
I enjoy his show with co-star son and the great relationship they have. Not all shows need drama!

You may be aware that Advance Auto is very serious about supplying us car guys with a fantastic parts source and caters to the DIY- huh- The Do It Yourself customer!

They even have a blog for the DIY folks!

They have been around a long time

Recent merge with CARQUEST expanded the quality parts available

So you are a racing fan?

Yes that is the very winning Courtney Force under the large Advance Auto racing sponsorship

Some ones Dad?

Tech Garage is a show for DIY guys right from Advance Auto University!
All team members go through training so they can install your battery fast!
If you drive on I81 through the Roanoke Virginia area you would have noticed a very large building with these trucks by the 100's, they are based out of Virginia.

Advance has always organized and sponsored car shows!

Advance is a big supporter of The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation

Advance is great place for a semi retired car guy to keep busy and earn a few extra bucks!

We had to follow the Veritas with a  Spohn built Packard right? A 1951 was built for Lt. Arthur Cooper as Spohn found a new niche building customs for US Servicemen

It survived, but I have not found much info where?
