The Twisted Pistons car show has always been one of the largest in our local area starting in Maryville Tennessee and has moved out to Townsend at the base of the Great Smoky Mountains!
This will be the 13th annual show in Fall 2026; the organizers are Gary and Christy Garner. Gary owns Garner's Automotive
Seems like Gary knows everyone and everyone knows Gary!
All proceeds from the show go to local charities every year!
It seems that every car in the county makes it to the show along with many from surrounding counties!
CARHUNTER makes every effort be there every year!
It was like a mini-AD (Advanced Design) truck nationals last year!
The variety was amazing of the cars in attendance!
They kept rolling in so I took up a position near the entrance!
Then a fleet of VW's rolled in!
The Twisted Pistons Car show was at the Parkway Drive-In for years with a movie at the end of the day! The show was always packed!

I actually forgot what they called this odd gathering at the Drive-In movie here is Maryville Tennessee but was driving by so I stopped in and took a few photos!
They did not have a big turnout, they just hosted a truck show called the Parkway Takeover, a common theme for names of this type of show always has some threat of disobedience for some reason to put it nicely!
Could not check out the truck show myself and still looking for some coverage from it?
There was an Air Cooled and European car show at the Drive In recently that went slightly better.
Enough said without saying anything?
My best guess was this was the theme of the truck show I missed?
Still makes no sense to me at all.

The 2026 Schedule & Locations
The event featured five days of racing and a dedicated mid-week road trip:]
- February 1: Day Zero (Tech & Testing) at Gainesville Raceway (Gainesville, FL)
- February 2: Day One at Gainesville Raceway
- February 3: Day Two at South Georgia Motorsports Park (Adel, GA)
- February 4: Mid-Week Drive Day / Road Trip
- February 5: Day Four at Bradenton Motorsports Park (Bradenton, FL)
- February 6: Day Five at Orlando Speed World Dragway (Orlando, FL)
- February 7: Day Six (Finals) at Gainesville Raceway
The Rules: Competitors had to present one time slip per race day and drive their cars along a designated route to the next track without trailer support.
Along the route the racers are hosted at check points and Lokar was nearby, so I ran over to check out the cruise in.
Time delays linked with hitting some terrible rush hour traffic turned out if you were to plant yourself along the route would have gotten more photos.
Many local car guys like Mr. Yearwood showed up to welcome the racers in!
