THE LAST SHADES OF THE PAST ROD RUN #39 2022, BITTER SWEET WITH A NEW BEGINNING

Rumors were flying, stories varied, but in-spite of what many people felt the need to say Dollywood was not willing to renew the contract as they had new plans for park expansion.
After 39 years and quite a few locations the organizers decided to retire instead of starting over.
Let it be known they did one heck of job and went out on top, kudos to all involved.
At this end of this CARHUNTER will update on a replacement show, 1st annual, not an extension of shades!

Variety is the draw

A bunch of wood cars were seen at 2022 shows, termites is the new rust?

No it was not a kit car, this gentleman used real tri-5 sheet metal

Patina Rod!

As long as CARHUNTER  has been attending the spring/fall Pigeon Forge events Roy has been there from Florida

Still a Packard guy

Periscope up!

Sounded good on paper?

55 Plymouths often overlooked

Hey another 55 Plymouth

And now some 32 Fords>

Quite a pair of Dagmars

Explanation needed? This trailer was a bumper car and the pole would power the cars via an overhead grid.

The checkered flags mean this is the Friday judging area

Amazing engraving on the plentiful chrome

Hi, I always hold a camera up for no reason

A lot more to this truck, a CARHUNTER PICK

Well done fake patina from Scotts Hot Rods

AS PROMISED A NEW SHOW HAS EMERGED TO FILL THAT SHADES OF THE PAST VOID

The scuttlebut is all over the place about guys still going to Pigeon Forge for the "Shades" even if the actual show is no longer happening! For petes sake just go to this and attend the Rod Run in Pigeon forge the next week. I spoke to people who had no idea there were 2500 hot rods nearby and just sat out on Parkway! SCARY!!
