PIGEON FORGE SPRING ROD RUN 2024 A NEW ERA BEGINS?

New laws and new rules with all the riff raff declaring the ROD RUN IS OVER because the city wants to stop the over running of the event by car sales instead of a Rod Run car show agenda.

They were wrong because it became more manageable for spectators and participants, with more parking and still some real nice cars, let's call it REBORN!

There is an off-street area being offered for car coral and sales, but if these guys are in business, then they understand fees being part of business

Also, for 2025 Sevierville finally saw the light and refused to allow the truck show to be scheduled during rod run weekend - common sense kicked in and maybe the truck folks will understand they can now enjoy Pigeon Forge all for themselves and stop stirring up trouble!

The first photos were a week before the Rod Run Traditionally when the Shades of the Past happened and some vehicles were here, but not many!

I also believe the crew trying to pass off a show this week as a Shades replacement may have finally given up and moved on after some very low vehicle turnouts!

Look carefully, quite a few empty spots for the week early arrivals!

Yellow tape you say? Some enterprising folks got with property owners and made arrangements as long as they were not on that leased right of way to literally open a used car lot, good job guys!!

Wait until you see photos from this area late in the blog! Remember this was a week early!

This was an example of police not being briefed correctly; I spoke with the Arby's manager, and he was freaking out because folks came in and donated to the Arby's Foundation to wipe out child hunger if they could park on the grass, none of the cars were for sale and from what I learned over the years was unless the city paved the area then it is still under the umbrella of the business and collected I believe $1800 or so. The PF PD informed all the cars have to move or be towed! WRONG!

My mind asked OVERHAULIN TV show build?

CARHUNTER went hunting and found a pretty good clone of it, but wrong year!

OK inline 6, but M?

CARHUNTER will explain and try not to get too involved- In 2023 a kid was riding motorized scooter of some sort with no helmet just around the corner between the sidewalk and lane of traffic. Someone in a truck at the red light opened the passenger door to jump out and switch with the driver and this poor kid slammed right into the door and was badly injured, he died in the hospital from severe Trama to his head. What I have learned is they stayed on scene with the police with a report determined to be a terrible accident, but family members and a few others who were not there have said this was intentionally done and the vehicle left the scene.
I will stop right there and not offer any opinion, but his family set up this memorial for the young man.

Real deal, same car?

Looky here CARHUNTER's old Packard at the Rod Run, still a cool car, but he has not taken care of it well!

They were working on it so all I got was this shot

Did not stop, but that 1978 Dodge Challenger just peeking out has been coming to the rod run at that hotel for years - say Imported by Dodge on that one!

PFPD was serious about the new laws

SEE YA!

Early in the week so come on out in April!

This El Camino was in that "used car lot" real nice and gone in less than a day, never saw it again

Come on in, we making deals!

I hope they worked it all out at Arby's at some point

CARHUNTER'S BEEN QUIET, BUT THIS MALIBU HAD A CADDY MOTOR!
