For 39 years the Shades of the Past club had a rod run starting in Gatlinburg Tennessee, that evolved and moved to Pigeon Forge then splitting into the September Shades of the past Hot Rod Roundup standing on it's own.
Many years of confussion that the Shades was actually the Rod Run in Pigeon Forge which happens April & September, many a person missing the large gathering of show cars over in Dollywood closed for the season water park for the last years not knowing what the actual Shades of the Past was.
Shades was the week before the Pigeon Forge Rod Run in September
CARHUNTER is not going to dive in that mess, FACTS; The contract at Dollywood expired, the water park had new plans and the original organizers of the Shades decided to retire instead of starting over.
Bobby Alloway http://www.allowaysrodshop.com/ , an original Shades of the Past member and hot rod royalty along with Gary Case have taken over with an all new show.
The 1st annual Triple Crown of Rodding at Nashville Super Speedway in Lebanon Tennessee.
You need to scroll to the end to see the Triple Crown winners
Great thing, amongst others is Friday is the day all the judging is done so you will see all the high dollar builds that day as the area closes at 10:30
CARHUNTER has been trying to explain to people that this is like no other show where you see some of the most impressive builds, it really is not about quantity like some clubs like to brag about, but the quality of the builds!
Maybe I just let you scroll through and enjoy the rides!
